Child and Youth Finance International releases guidelines on safer payment products for minors during Global Money Week
At a time when the digital economy is growing rapidly, children and youth are exposed to more and more opportunities to interact with money by making digital payments through apps and websites. To ensure that they make proper use of these payment options, minors need to be educated and safeguarded. This places an onus on financial service providers.
According to this 2017 GSMA Blog, 30 new mobile money accounts were registered every minute in the past five years. Usage, however, remains limited to P2P transfers and airtime top-ups.
In many countries, savings groups (SGs) are one of the most - if not the most - well-organized and pervasive potential customer segment seeking access to formal financial services. This handbook developed by the MasterCard Foundation, CARE, and the Seep Network is a reference guide for financial service providers, for the effective design and delivery of financial services for savings groups.
